What is LPCET?
The Lateral Entry into Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (LPCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Hyderabad, for ITI candidates seeking admission into 2nd-year diploma courses in various government, government-aided, private unaided polytechnics, and 2nd shift polytechnics in Telangana state.
The LPCET entrance exam provides an opportunity for ITI candidates to pursue diploma courses in engineering offered by various polytechnic colleges in Telangana. Candidates who successfully clear the LPCET exam are allotted ranks based on their performance, and they can then opt to study diploma courses offered in the Polytechnics of SBTET.
Eligibility Criteria for TS LPCET 2024
- Candidates must have completed a 2-year ITI course.
- Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks in their ITI course.
- Candidates must have completed a Bridge Course conducted by the Department of Employment and Training (DET).
- Meeting these criteria is mandatory for candidates who wish to pursue 2nd year diploma courses in government, government-aided, private un-aided polytechnics, and 2nd shift polytechnics run in existing private unaided engineering colleges in Telangana state.

Syllabus for TS LPCET 2024 Exam
a) Exam pattern:
- The LPCET-2024 question paper will be of objective type.
- The question paper will comprise of 120 questions.
- Mathematics will have 60 questions worth 60 marks.
- Physics and Chemistry will have 30 questions each worth 30 marks.
- The total marks for the exam will be 120.
- The time duration for the exam will be 2 hours (120 minutes).
b) Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- Students must secure a minimum of 40% marks to qualify for the exam.
c) Reservation for SC/ST candidates:
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST) will be assigned a rank if they obtain a minimum of one (01) mark in the entrance test.
d) Exam format:
- The question paper will contain 120 questions.
- Each question will have four options.
- There will be only one correct response for each question.
e) Ranking:
- Ranks will be generated for each candidate based on their performance in LPCET-2024.
- These ranks will be used for admissions into polytechnics.

How to Apply for TS LPCET 2024?
- Step 1: Visit the official website of TS SBTET (LPCET 2024) and download the application form or you can download it from here.
- Step 2: Fill in all the required details in the application form.
- Step 3: Once you have filled in all the details, make a demand draft (DD) of Rs.500/- if you belong to the OC category, and Rs.300/- if you belong to the SC/ST category. The DD should be drawn in favor of "SECRETARY, SBTET, TS, Hyderabad".
- Step 4: Submit the application form along with the DD to the principal of Govt. Polytechnic, Masab Tank, Hyderabad.
- Step 5: Keep a copy of the application form and the DD with you for future reference.

- Step 7: The examination center for TS LPCET 2024 is Govt. Polytechnic, MasabTank, Hyderabad. Make sure you plan your travel accordingly to reach the center on time.

- a) Keep your Hall Ticket safe until the admissions are completed.
- b) Arrive at the exam hall one hour before the exam starts.
- c) You won't be allowed to enter the exam hall after 11:00AM.
- d) Bring a good black ballpoint pen, writing pad, HB pencil, eraser, and sharpener to the exam hall.
- e) Do not bring log books, tables, calculators, tabs, cell phones, or any electronic gadgets into the exam hall.
- f) Stay seated in your assigned seat until the exam is over, and return the OMR response sheet to the invigilator before leaving.
- g) Read the instructions carefully for marking answers and other entries on the OMR response sheet.
- h) Handle the OMR response sheet carefully and do not fold, wrinkle, or tear it. Only mark your answers in the appropriate circles.
- i) Use an HB pencil to mark your answers on the OMR response sheet. Do not use a ballpoint pen for marking.
